Set Up Appointment Resources

This article describes the process for setting up appointment resources that you can reserve with patient appointments. Special rooms and pieces of equipment are resources that may be reserved for patient appointments. Any scheduled resources appear in the schedule alongside the patient appointment schedule.

You can enter or edit appointment resources in Insight EMR and Insight Billing. From the Settings menu, select Clinical Settings. The Edit Settings dialog box appears.

Creating Appointment Resources

Use the following procedure to create appointment resources.

  1. Add a new appointment resource by clicking Add in the lower-left of the Resources area. A new row appears in the list.
  2. Enter a unique name for the resource in the Resource column.
  3. Resources may be specified for each clinic in your organization. Click the cell in the Clinic column of the resource you are adding to display a list of clinics. Then select the desired clinic from the list.
  4. Enter a description of the resource, if needed, in the Resource Description column.

Editing Appointment Resources

You can clear the Active check box if the resource is no longer available.
